Four soldiers with the 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, at Fort Benning were recognized for their actions in Afghanistan today, including two who received the Silver Star, the nation’s third highest medal for valor.The Silver Star was presented to Staff Sgts. Scott Anderson and James L. Wilbur during a 10 a.m. ceremony in Marshall Auditorium at McGinnis-Wickam Hall.Staff Sgt. Ryan L. Flora received the Joint Service Commendation Medal and Cpl. Ian T. Seymour was the recipient of the Army commendation Medal.The awards recognized actions by the Rangers while deployed between December 2011 and March this year.
